This week's E-Health Europe newsletter draws attention to 4 new draft HL7 standards.
“Getting healthcare standards to market quickly has been a longstanding issue, while the sheer propagation of standards and the resulting lack of interoperability is a growing concern,” says Bob Dolin, MD, chair-elect for HL7 and co-chair of the HL7 Structured Documents Work Group (SDWG). “We have found, however, that CDA can be quickly and easily tailored for a broad number of use cases.”
The January 2009 ballot cycle will be opening soon for these guides and other improved areas of the standard as a whole. The Personal Healthcare Monitoring Reports guide has been produced by HL7 in collaboration with the Continua Alliance an industry body that promotes telehealth solutions.
A key member of Continua is Intel, long time HL7 contributors and supporters, who are now actively working in the home health market (see TelecomsEurope article).
