HL7 Japan cordially invite all colleagues interested in health informatics standards to submit abstracts (1-2 pages) about their HL7 experiences and also register to attend this exciting event. Many of you will be at HL7 WG meeting in Kyoto immediately preceding IHIC2009. The conference will publish electronic copies of all abstracts and papers.

Call for HL7 CDA Case studies: ShowmeYourCDA! Session at IHIC2009

The aim of the "Show me your CDA!" Interoperability Forum is to:

  • collect, analyse, and report on CDA implementations around the world

  • share expertise, tips, and tricks on the current and future uses of CDA

  • benchmark the adoption of CDA worldwide

  • recognize best practices in CDA tools and implementations

The forum will meet again in Kyoto, Japan on May 9, 2009 in IHIC2009. Please register at www.showmeyourcda.net to submit information on your experience with CDA. The “Show Me Your CDA” Interoperability Forum is an opportunity for all members of the HL7 community to show their accomplishments and be recognized for their efforts on implementing HL7 CDA

Individuals and organizations are encouraged to fill out the questionnaire; post sample CDA documents, style sheets, and supporting information; and write short case studies about their projects.

Deadline for your CDA case to be considered for IHIC 2009: April 20, 2009.

The program is to be based around the following topics:

HL7 implementation experience from regional, transregional, or national implementation:

  • HL7 v2.x and 3.0 messages
  • Clinical Document Architecture (CDA)
  • ePrescription and eClaims
  • Collaborative use of standards, HL7 in IHE profiles

Vocabularies and Semantic Processing

  • Terminologies, Ontologies and Coding Systems
  • National or Regional Adaptation

Business Models for reimbursement & large scale deployment:

  • Global initiatives beyond HIPPA and the European Health Insurance Card (eHIC)
  • Electronic Healthcare Record: from strategy to implementation
  • Knowledge deployment processes for education, certification
  • Legal and regulatory issues.

HL7 standards for Security, Confidentiality and Trust

Beyond HL7 messages and documents - Challenges ahead

HL7 in consumer health:

  • HL7 v3 for Personal health records and health plans
  • Environmental health and personalized health early warning (e.g. pollution, allergies)
  • HL7 CDA for Personal health devices, smart appliances, health cards

HL7 in population health and semantic support:

  • Epidemiology, disease surveillance and control
  • Geographical information systems for population health
  • Disaster medicine, emergency management and public health
  • Clinical genomics and family history
