HL7 delivers healthcare interoperability standards

HL7 GAS Working Group Meeting in London

21 January 2011

The Health Level 7 (HL7) Generation of Anesthesia Standards Group has been working for a number of years towards developing an implementation guide for anaesthesia records that would recommend standards for technical implementation of computerised anaesthesia records and conform to the HL7 Clinical Document Architecture standards.

A number of the major technical issues have now been resolved and it is now necessary to get some more clinical input into dealing with issues such as any omissions from the model, use of clinical terminology and modelling of drug administration - issues that are not primarily technical but require input from practising anaesthetists.

Towards this end, SCATA will be hosting a 2 day working group meeting in London on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th February 2011.

For more information please check the SCATA Web site, http://www.scata.org.uk/index.php

This is open to any SCATA member able to attend who is interested in becoming involved in some of this work. There will be no registration charge for the meeting. For further information on this project see: http://www.hl7.org/Special/committees/gas/minutes.cfm.
