HL7 delivers healthcare interoperability standards

First ITK CDA Implementation Forum Announced

Posted 31 July 2012

The first ITK CDA Implementation forum will be held on the 9th of August. This is a very welcome development and HL7 UK is pleased to be able to support this event with CDA expert participation.

See below for full details & contact information - specific questions from implementers are invited and should be submitted as soon as possible.

CDA Implementation Forum for ITK CDA specifications - Invitation from Department of Health Informatics Directorate

As the number of people implementing against the CFH published CDA specifications increases, a number of recurring support themes are emerging within the CFH messaging team.

In order to maximise the support we can give in the most cost effective manner, we intend to initiate a series of "CDA Implementation Forums" to provide assistance to implementers.

The forums are intended to be delivered via an on-line "webinar" and last one hour.

The first half of the webinar will take the form of a presentation initially via CFH team members, the second half being a Q&A session.

We would ideally like to present on topics requested by the attendees, the following are ideas that have been suggested so far :

  • Overview of the CDA Message Specifications

  • Embedding an existing document within a CDA document

  • Validating a CDA document

  • Implementation approaches to creating CDA (including GreenCDA

We would welcome more suggestions.

In order to get the best value from the Q&A session then questions should ideally be submitted in advance in order to allow the appropriate research to be undertaken. We'll try to field questions on the day, but the webinar format might not be the best medium to pose questions in.

The sessions will also have representation from HL7 UK (http://www.hl7.org.uk/)  who will be able to support any questions that relate more to HL7 as opposed to the CFH published specifications

The first webinar is scheduled for 12:30-13:30 on August 9th. Details for connecting to the webinar are shown here, you'll need to register before the call.
