The NHS Information Standards Board has endorsed HL7 Version 3 as the strategic direction for clinical messaging, and HL7 is key to the current strategy of the NHS National Programme for IT (NPfIT).
HL7 UK is the UK affiliate organisation to HL7, and was set up in January 2000. It is a not-for-profit voluntary organisation of software vendors, healthcare providers (such as NHS Trusts), and independent consultants, dedicated to delivering interoperability across UK healthcare.
HL7 UK is set up as a company limited by guarantee, HL7 UK Ltd (registered in England no 4026136). All members of HL7 UK are legal members of HL7 UK Ltd. See Board pages for details of the Management Board and Directors.
